Bio
Alexis Pike received her BFA in visual art from Boise State University and her MFA in studio art from the University of Iowa, with departmental honors. She currently lives in Portland, Oregon with her partner and young son, where she teaches college courses and is involved in various community outreach programs.
In recent news-Alexis has been chosen as one of five finalists for the prestigious 2008 Betty Bowen Award hosted by the Seattle Art Museum. The past year has been eventful and rewarding, Alexis’ portfolio was featured in Exposure magazine, published by the Society for Photographic Education, Alexis also presented her work alongside John Divola as part of Photo Alliance’s Lecture Series, and she was the recipient of Photolucida’s NW Summer Reviews merit scholarship for 2008. A gracious thank you goes out to all who helped to make the past year such a success.
